Finally Friday

Well after a long, humid, sticky week I am in need of some rest. I can’t wait to just sleep in tomorrow!
I hope all of you had a great week also. How was your week?

There is not much in the way of news around here we just seem to be humming along… I see there are a lot of new blogs on BlogDumps Bloggers, a big welcome to all that joined the community this week. I also noticed a lot of new bloggers that have submitted their blogs to the directory. I will be adding new blogs this weekend to the directory so make sure we can find your buttons. 🙂

I am thinking about having a video contest and a prize for the best or funniest video that is uploaded to BlogDumps Video… We should run the contest for some time to get a big response!

Let me know what you all think about it and help me come up with a good idea for this, I think it would be a blast. I guess the one that gets the most votes would win. We will have to figure out the details and the winner would get money for winning! Continue reading Finally Friday →

Welcome to the Saturday Night Dump!

Wolfbernz talked about a surprise… I’m here to tell you about it!

We are all about the Linky Love… obviously… and what a better way to get out some linky love than to add a few newbies to the directory?!? Check out the new listings in Money Blogs, Literature Blogs, and – of course – The DUMP. In case you weren’t aware, the dump is for bloggers who Submitted their blog to BlogDumps, but didn’t tell us where they wanted to be listed! Anyone and Everything can be found there!

We’ve also added a new category to Blog Dumps… Real Estate Resources. We are hoping to see real growth in that area in the coming months. Everything from Real Estate Brokers that blog about houses they offer – to mortgage brokers, loan information, and foreclosures will be listed there!

Oh Yeah, the surprise! Well… We want to help our affiliates to make money while promoting BlogDumps, so EVERY BLOGDUMPS AFFILIATE has been Featured on the BlogDumps Home Page and the Blog Directory Home Page. What a beautiful Saturday!

It was so nice to wake up to the sun beating in the window and the birds chirping outside in the trees here on the farm today! We had close to fifteen inches of snow here this week and it’s all gone, it will be seventy degrees tomorrow on Sunday… I guess that’s why I like it here on the Eastern Shore we get weather extremes but they don’t last long and it’s over. I should have mounted a camera on the front of
the Jeep it was so much fun trying to get to town on all the back roads!

Could it be Spring is almost here?

So what type of flowers should I plant in front of the farm house this year… Any Ideas?

We have a lot of new members this week, Thanks for Dumping your blog!

I have added almost everyone that has Dumped their blog to the directory categories. I still have about fifty to go so don’t be alarmed if you are not listed yet, this is all done by humans and we check each for content first so you can just imagine the time it takes… The only thing is, there are almost ten new links a day sometimes – I think I’m getting ahead and I’m really getting further bhind LOL. But, I like it this way it keeps it fresh and new and the spam blogs out.

I was over at one of the other blog directories I belong to and they have a sticky post on their discussion area that says no link dropping… That is not the case here so do not feel that you can’t tell people about your blog or that you can’t leave a link to it. If the thread on the discussion involves a post or is relative to what everyone is talking about drop the link or if you have posted about the same thing on your blog give an excerpt and drop a link to your post. BlogDumps is about getting maximum exposure for your blog.

The best way to achieve readers and gain traffic is through social networking and you can do the right here on BlogDumps in many ways. I invite you to surf BlogDumps and check out all the places you can drop your link to your blog. You can even create your own page here and add videos, photos, and more with all the links you want on it! Or join the discussion forum and add your Two cents! There is another spot to drop your link each day when you get bumped off but I will let you find it… LOL

Hot Blogs On Tuesday!

Gosh can you believe it’s February? Time flies along doesn’t it. Since the recent turn in my life My son and his wife having a baby, getting there own house, Me becoming a “randpa” (Oh Stop it Sandy, I can see you laughing and having way to much fun with this!!!) I sit and reflect as I guess we all do and it seems like yesterday my boys were sneaking off to the pond for a swim or playing army in the woods on the back of the farm. Now it has me thinking 49 is middle age right? I am sure you will all agree… You will won’t you!!!???

I guess when they all move out I will still have my other kids… My wolves, I will hang out with Woofy and we will have a couple of glasses of wine and let out a few howls together… hehehehe

Yes, I know what you are thinking, It’s not me, Woofy will steal your drink if you turn your back for one second – even if it is on the kitchen counter or on the table. I thought about AA for him but the Parrot (Timothy) would have to go too! Never mind, it just wouldn’t be the same, I actually think Timothy howls better than Woofy!!!

I was reading about social media and how one of the biggest no no’s is to write the same scheduled post.
Well I guess I have failed, I like doing the Top Blog Sites Tuesday! What would be the purpose of having the scripting for top sites if you don’t ever give any credit where it is due. So I am going to continue to do this until I forget – which could be any time now that I am a “Randpa” LOL … What was I writing about???

Oh, Yes Top Blogs Tuesday. There are some new Blogs listed this week so make sure to check them out. I suspect that we will see many new ones as we are getting about 10 or so new members a day now.

Saturday At the Dump!

As is sit down with my cup of coffee in hand and gaze out the window thinking of what to write, I see it looks cold and windy outside! I am so glad my friend bought me a really nice down jacket for Christmas! It has been a very cold this week on the Eastern Shore.

There is so much to tell about what’s going on around here!

My son has bought his own house and he and his wife have moved in they will be having their baby soon. It’s going to be a baby boy! Woo-hoo! Oh stop it, I am not that old!!! Ok, Don’t you even use the “G” word…LOL I am proud of them though they are on their way to their new life. They are on their own and they are making out well, in this economy I had my concerns.

As you could see from the last post, I know it was last Tuesday but we have been working so hard on the site improvements I haven’t had a moment to blog away.

I was reading in some of the emails I get from various web news about social media and where it is headed in 2009. One of the articles I was reading had some of the do’s and don’ts, so I decided with a mutual vote around here to follow some of their advice and start this year off with a new look for BlogDumps as a whole.

The improvements started this week. We made some awesome improvements to BlogDumps Bloggers, allowing bloggers to add their adsence and javascript codes to their posts, and in the process we had to re-build a couple of blog templates to be able to be seen in FireFox… I am so glad Nancy Likes her new blog layout!

The biggest news of the week is the new look of BlogDumps Video I hope you all take a moment and go look at the new look and layout. Please take a few minutes and join the social media part of BlogDumps, you will not be disappointed with all the cool new features. The webcam upload allows for you to even do a webcam upload and embed your video blog post on your blog!

The next biggest news is the *all new* BlogDumps Instant Messenger that now has all the features the big boys have! Yes, I want our instant messenger to be just as good or better. Now you can send not only text, make audio calls and do video chat with your friends you can also transfer files! I hope you all enjoy the new look throughout BlogDumps as we grow along side all of you in the blogging world. Trina says it sounds corny, but I have to say it – with out all of you, BlogDumps would be just another empty site hoping for some visitors – so with that said thanks everyone for becoming a part of the BlogDumps community!
