Wow, What a weekend What’s snew… lol

Even though the weather has been so bad, BlogDumps has stayed intact and running smooth as ever.
Since we were snowed in I had a chance to go over some things on the site I would have normally have waited on until Monday. We had a small issue with the “Top Site Tuesday” Blogroll but I fixed it and everyone’s widget should be working fine. I will work on a widget that will work on Wordpress.com blogs… They don’t allow an iframe embed. That is one reason I started BlogDumps Bloggers so people would not be limited as to what they want to do, weather it’s blogging for fun or profit I don’t care just blog and have fun is my motto!

I know I am a little late with my Sunday Music post but I spent the day digging out of the snow… We have four and five foot snow drifts and yes Trina had to have a camera when I got the tractor stuck… lol

The snow finally stopped, now we’re just dealing with high winds. We were fairly lucky, we never lost power during the storm. Wolfbernz went out earlier to try and plow the driveway – I think he said some of the snow drifts are 5 feet high. It’s crazy! And yes, he did get the tractor stuck – he had to be pulled out by the Jeep!

For a while we were getting 2 inches of snow an hour according to the newscasters. Delaware has been in a “State of Emergency” all day which simply means – STAY HOME. In order to road crews to do their jobs safely they wanted the roads clear of other cars. It was snowing so hard it was like a really thick fog, you couldn’t see anything until you were right up on it!

We don’t have anything new to report about BlogDumps, but if you were in the Blizzard of 2010, upload your videos and photos to BlogDumps Video and share them with everyone! I’ve seen some awesome snow pictures and I can’t wait to get out and take some of my own!

Ok, so I was wrong – This is what a white-out looks like!

As we are already stir crazy around here, I thought I would share a bit of the insanity:

TGIF!!

The winter storm has hit the Delmarva Peninsula and we are under a Blizzard warning! It’s awesome! Looking out the window I think this is what is called a complete white-out!

We got prepared for the worst. We went food shopping yesterday and filled all the fuel tank in the vehicles, tractor, and heat tanks today. We are ready for the power outages that are sure to happen around here, we’ll have heat and something to cook food on.

Yesterday at Walmart, I was laughing at what many people got for emergency food… microwave meals. Umm, HELLO!! If the power goes out you don’t get a microwave… I was amazed that there was no milk, no eggs, and no bread, the line to the deli was amazingly long, and the bakery was empty. The cashier said it was busier than Black Friday!

Today at the local hardware store I had to laugh – everyone walking out had a brand new snow shovel or two. Great move on their part ordering 500 of them – they were almost sold out by noon.

I’m not sure if I’ll have internet tomorrow, but if I do, See you tomorrow night at the dump!

Ah Sunday! Time to sleep in and relax after a hard week! It snowed big time here. I don’t know the exact amount but I had to plow the lane two times with the tractor. I am guessing six to eight inches of the white stuff here on the farm. It always amazes me how much the wolves love the snow, they love it and I am freezing go figure!

Timber, the farm dog, followed me all over behind and in front of the tractor in full blizzard, running through the snow like a child diving into the deep parts nose first and coming out of a drift covered with a big grin on her face.

I hope you all are having a good weekend – Trina said this song was perfect for my Sunday post… Where is your mind… I guess I am as bad as the wolves – it snows and I am bundled up they’re tagging along behind and out the door we go with the question following behind me “Where are you going” I just chuckle and say to myself “We are out to tear up some snow with the tractor and have some fun…”

Well I don’t know about you all, but we are under snow here on the Eastern Shore.
All the stores are closed early even Wal*Mart… LOL
I had to drive to town earlier, what a mess…

I had previously mentioned that I was working on a blogroll for the Top Sites Tuesday bloggers… Well, it is finished and you can see it in the sidebar- it looks like a little widget. If everyone that participates and is on the blogroll embed it in their sidebar, you will find your users visiting your blogs more often… It will increase everyone’s traffic and possible new readers. This is in no way a mandatory thing but to get on the blogroll you will have to fill out a put me on the blogroll form and show that you have been participating for at least two times and are going to continue or it would not be fair to those that do.

This is what it looks like… I hope you like it? It should automatically adjust to your sidebar size.

Speaking of Top Sites Tuesday, one of our favorites around here, Bud, won this week we will be sending out a BlogDumps T-Shirt to him. Thanks Bud for being a part of the community. You all should read this post it’s great!

I don’t know if you all have checked out the FAQ page but we had some questions and we were also informed that a couple of users couldn’t find our contact button so we added a footer with the necessities.

We have had quite a few new blogs this last week, I am going to have to make the rounds an check them out. So far the new form on BlogDumps Bloggers has slowed up the robots. Some robots still have found a way around the sign up form but I am able to catch them because they have no TOS Acceptance form attached to their sign up. Whew that was a mouthful.

We are getting closer to having all the new blogs listed – we have about 400 or so to go! I want to automate but if we do, we loose touch with the people who join BlogDumps. I still want to check the blogs out, I just think it’s a wise Idea and keeps a nice clean community.

Another great week around here… We have had some spring like weather on the Eastern Shore, it’s nice but we still have February to go so I guess winter is not over yet!

Older Eyes (aka Bud) was this weeks winner on “Top Sites Tuesday.” Since Bud has had a review already and been featured, we thought it would be nice to send him a BlogDumps T-Shirt. Bud we will be sending you an email to get a mailing address.

Bud has a great blog and is a wonderful read so make sure to drop in and visit. I am sure after you visit you will return. Thanks for being a part of the community Bud, it’s nice to have you hanging out with us!

Not much to report here. I did find I bought BlogdumpsVideo.com three years ago and the domain was still in it’s old place so I am moving it to where all the other BlogDumps names are registered. You won’t notice anything during the change. I just like to keep things simple

I have been trying my best to get caught up on adding people to the BlogDumps blog directory but some hide the button where I can’t find it. If you submit your blog, before we add you to the blog directory we manually check for a link to BlogDumps. Those of you who hide the button on a links page or remove the button immediately after submitting your blog, will not be added to the directory.
