What a ride the last four weeks have been… In fact, I am not sure if it has been three or four weeks but then again who’s counting!?!

Finally things are getting back to normal, well as normal as it gets…LOL

Trina and I have had a lot of fun even though we had been stuck waiting for weather many times and had a few rough moments during the ride to bring the sailboat up the coast to San Diego. I guess they are right though, it’s the bumps along the way that make this an adventure.

We met some really cool people along the way up that were on other boats and we’ve buddy boated up the coast with them from about half way up the Baja. It was a pleasure to finally meet them after just radio contact, have dinner and a couple drinks. It is nice how in the boating community that even though you haven’t met face to face there is a camaraderie amongst each boat and the crews. It also makes it nice when you are in the middle of nowhere that someone is looking to see how you are doing and if you made it to the next anchorage or marina safely.

We just checked out of Mexico and are going to make our last crossing to San Diego late Friday night and will be there on Saturday morning. Then we jump on a plane and off to the farm on the East coast.

I haven’t had a chance to welcome all of you that have created your new blogs here since we have been on this trip, so welcome to the BlogDumps community 🙂 I am normally always around so if you need help you can find a contact and help link on the main page of BlogDumps in the footer of the page. Since I am back on the job I will be going over the blogs and checking around to make sure the community is clean of porn or links to porn or hate type blogs. If you are surfing the site and find on of these, please report it and help me keep the site clean.

For those of you who are new to the community, make sure to stop by the discussion forum and announce your blog, there is a thread there just for that so don’t be shy – jump in there and let us all know what you are blogging about and leave a link so we can all visit 🙂

The other news is there will be a Top Sites Tuesday this week, it will be “Two Thoughts On Tuesday” for those that want to have your post done ahead of time.

Also, we will be back on schedule for the Saturday Funnies and Sunday Music starting next weekend so if you would like to have a link back from BlogDumps Blog on those posts make sure to upload a funny video or a favorite song and I will use them and give you credit for it. You can upload and host your Videos, Music, and photos here, keep them in public or private albums.

I am working on an idea for a contest for the best video and best photo I am not sure on all the details yet but I thought that might be something fun and if it is something that goes over well we will do it maybe once a month.

So that’s it, everything has been working just fine, the server techs are awesome as always we have had no problems or issues… I will just keep plugging along working on improvements to help promote all of you so you gain readers and get some comments on your posts.

First, I want to thank all of you that joined in the last Top Sites Tuesday!

I know we missed this week’s and some are wondering, “Where the heck are Wolfbernz and Trina!?!”

Well, we made it to Mexico and got to the sailboat safely. It was a nice sail from the Los Cabos to Cabo San Lucas.

When we arrived we hit the fuel dock and filled all the tanks and extra fuel barrels. Extras – yes we are headed North and you never know what can happen… We stayed in Cabo San Lucas for the night and took off first thing the following morning. We hit some rough weather and sailed into a place called Bahia Magdalena, aka Mag Bay, but it was full of tiny lobsters, the bay and the shoreline were red there were so many. I have photos but the internet here is so bad I am going to be lucky if this post gets published. We stayed in Mag bay for one day and then left – it was a bit rough but worth it when we arrived here in Bahia Santa Maria.

It’s a better anchorage, a bit more protected and the few locals that live here are very friendly they even dropped off some lobsters for us to have for dinner for just a few pesos 🙂 They were so kind we had an extra GPS and they had nothing to find their way from the ocean to the bay in bad weather, we also had a weather proof case for it, so we were nice back to them. This is something they can’t get here so they were so happy. I hope they never have a problem but if they do I will feel better for the father and son, Marcos and Peter, trying to live here on the water.

We have been here for three days and it looks like the weather will not let up until Thursday but not much though. It’s a small window of medium to heavy seas and medium to heavy winds and we are going for it, the next hop is two and a half days – good or bad there is no getting off or anywhere to stop so we are banking on experience and forecasts to make it to Turtle Bay where there is food, fuel and internet. We knew this was going to be a hard delivery when we took it on so we were prepared for it.

It hasn’t been all rough though… I have had a pole in the water a couple times but just small fish, I won at Gin Rummy, caught a few sun rays when the wind stops for a bit and had a few naps – no easy chair but that’s ok… LOL Ok Trina won at Gin Rummy too! We both lost on the crossword puzzle though.

Today we got real bored so we jogged around the boat… Sorry no video on that one, hehehe But you could imagine a nautical version of a Chinese fire drill! 😉

So we will check in later this week and let you all know what’s up and how we are doing we hope to be home sometime next week.

It has been a great week here on BlogDumps 🙂

We have been working hard on the site. I will be uploading more avatars to the discussion forum for those who don’t want to use their photos. If you are a part of the discussion forum please update your profiles. There is a place to add all your blog info and your favorite media, I also added a place for your blogging friends to leave comment on your profile wall so give it a try you can customize your profile page too. The discussion forum gets thousands of hits a month so it’s a great place to announce your blog or start a discussion and gain some readers.

I have had to clean out some of the spam blogs that have been created this last week on BlogDumps Bloggers. I may have to implement some extra measures or start moderating and then approving each… Got to love them spammers!!!

I do want to welcome all of you that have created a blog here on BlogDumps. I noticed that some of you have got started but stopped so if you are having some trouble or need help just let me know, I am here to help.

This weeks winner of Top Sites Tuesday is Cheryl from the blog The Art of Being Conflicted. As Bud would say “I like the way you write and I am glad you joined us on TST” I think that goes for all of us here 🙂 Make sure to visit Cheryl’s blog you will be glad you did it’s awesome!

So the news for the day… I guess I should have mentioned, not that I am forgetful LOL… that the back ups on all the sites throughout the Wolfbernz network -that includes BlogDumps Bloggers on BlogDumps.net – has been moved to a different time. We did this due to popular demand because the amount of traffic and the backups slow down the data bases for a short period of time (like 10 minutes). The back ups have been moved to 3am Eastern time and 12:00am PST so if you notice a little slow down on accessing the sites this is why. We will be putting up a BlogDumps is over capacity page for when this happens but if you see this don’t panic, all is well.

We really could use another dedicated server so if you are a BlogDumps Blogger and would like to help get us there there is a subscribe button for one dollar a month via PayPal hopefully on your BlogDumps Bloggers Dashboard we will get enough people to do this and we will add one soon. By the way there are now 1,310 active blogs on BlogDumps Bloggers and we are growing daily! Some of the older blogs from back in 2006 and 2007 that have not been updated or used have been archived to make way for new and active bloggers.

BlogDumps Bloggers site has been updated again. It seems as though WP has a new update each week lately, but that’s ok it keeps the site secure and we do appreciate all they do over there that gives us the ability to run BlogDumps Bloggers and the chance for people to join BlogDumps and get a free blog!

We have a new blog Submission, now when you add your blog you can chose a category and it places you in there as soon as you finish the form and add your link. I have wanted this for so long and it has been up and running a week with no issues… It even shows your Google page rank and I can update that too! So if you are new or a new blogger visiting, submit your blog to the newly remodeled BlogDumps directory!

To start off this week, I am very happy with all the new blogs since we have re-opened registrations, I haven’t had to battle any porn, nasty stuff or spammers… Knock on wood (*knocks on head…LOL*)

Everything has been running very smooth and the Top Sites Issue has been resolved.

I would like to see more bloggers join BlogDumps B Tubed but that will come in time. When you upload your music and videos I will use them here on the blog and link the post to your blog.

This year we would like to beat all of the previous years in Bloggers joining the BlogDumps community so make sure to pass the word to all your friends and if you friends don’t have a blog, make sure to let them know they can get one free right here on BlogDumps.

A good question was brought up to me today by Cheryl from Art Of Being Conflicted The question was:

Should there be a copyright statement on a blog?

Yes, I think this is important all of you should have a copyright symbol and link it to a page that lets everyone know that copying your material without your permission is prohibited. Many of you write very well, much better than I do, and your material is yours. People out there do like to use others material for whatever reason, I don’t know.

Having a copyright statement a good way to protect what you write because no one can say they didn’t see a copyright on your page. Some of you are into photography and you do not need people stealing your photos and using them as their own. I have visited a lot of blogs that use a company called Copyscape it disables the right click and copy and may do even more. I have never used them, but I think this is something to be considered. For the record, when you publish something on the web people can reprint what you have written but there must be a link to the original blog post and it must say something about where the material came from original and where you can read the original post. This is part of the (DMCA) Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

If for some reason you find someone using your material you can Google the DMCA and follow the guidelines to have them stop. To start, you can try the nice way and send a DMCA notice but if that does not work you can notify their hosting company. You can find their hosting company by using the whois (Google whois) when you use the whois you will find the registrar of the name that is not the hosting company. The hosting company is on the nameservers it will look like 3n1.nameserver.com the nameserver.com is the hosting company. By law if you have tried the nice way to have them stop then you notify the hosting company and send a DMCA to the hosting company if they do not remove it they become in violation themselves. Usually when you notify the hosting company you will get results in about 24 hours or less. I have had some of my other sites hacked before and they have left there name thinking haha but I used this method found the hosting company and shut down their sites completely. So this was a very good question and it is important to protect your work after all you all work very hard on your blogs.

It’s been a week now since we have been home and lucky me I came down with the flu!

So I have been hanging around in the easy chair, not allowed to go out, so I have been working with some of the programmers to fix some of the small issues on BlogDumps. One of the issues wasn’t so small though, the spammers as you may remember had taken over and learned how to manipulate the Top Sites Sending traffic script on the front page. Well, we gave it our best shot here and finally had to call in the programmers that wrote the original script, well I can’t say enough good things about them. I explained that they had somehow learned to manipulate the script that runs Top Sites and that this is really important to us on Tuesdays and sure enough this is what had happened. But they are better then the hackers! The Top Sites Tuesday script is fixed and even better then ever, only one click from one IP address can be used so no more manipulation. I can say they were about to drive me crazy because the spammers’ links led to nasty porn sites and you know how much I despise them.

You can find the programmers that have different scrips you can use on your site that made the top referrers script that we use here We used their help in this years ago and they didn’t have a problem just jumping in there and helping fix the problem. Nice people to say the least and true programmers they will not let someone ruin their work.

The rest of the news to report is we have been working on the features of BlogDumps making them faster and easier to use so enjoy the BlogDumps features after all they are free.

Since we are back on the farm and at the office now, we have re-opened blog registrations and the fast track blog submission. You can get your blog featured and added to the directory also, so if you are ready to get your blog featured and get a review of your blog to fast track it to gaining readers and traffic just hit this link and you will be on your way.

Well, we are back home and we had a great time on our vacation 🙂

The top sites problem with the spammers has been fixed, now they cannot manipulate the script any longer. Make sure to have your friends and readers click your BlogDumps buttons- each click will only count once, one click from one IP address. Top Sites on the front page was always supposed to be that way but, as always, the spammers find a way to manipulate things.

I think I have mentioned that we have opened blog registrations again and there have been a lot of new blogs created. The new default theme is really nice so if you do not want to mess around trying to change things up it’s ready to go with a nice look to it. Remember, to all of you that want an adult blog that is not allowed here. This is a family friendly site and will stay that way!

So it’s back to the grind stone…LOL We are working on some new things for the site and hope to bring them to you this Spring but for now have fun and enjoy BlogDumps. I will be doing the Saturday Funnies and Sunday Music posts again so if you would like to have your blog linked to one of these upload and share your Funny Video or favorite music to BlogDumps “B Tubed” here.

I know I haven’t posted all week but that gives the Top Sites Tuesday Blog more exposure 🙂
We have been scurrying around making last minute changes and handing out orders to everyone to watch everything while we take off from work. What a chore updating and making sure everything is covered on the web so we can take a break…YEA! I know some of you have tried to Dump your blog this last week and it has said “Sorry we are not accepting links at this time.” We had reached the 2000 link limit in the Blog Dump so we have been cleaning up the dead links and trying to add as many as we can to the directory… Whew it’s a job for sure! We are a human edited directory and we check everything so we are family safe so if you are a mom or dad surfing our directory and your kids are with you, you won’t open some nasty blog in front of them…YUCK!

All registrations are now open again we appreciate your patients during this time. We upped the limit to 3000 links in the front page Blog dump so if you are new make sure to stop by and dump your blog here

On another note I am sure that you have noticed that both Firefox and Internet Explorer have had a ton of updates. This has caused us to have to update also, so we have been working on BlogDumps B Tubed the Video, Music, photos and Games sharing part of the Social network. We are almost finished and it is working great there are just a few more CSS (the way things show on the page in your browser) issues we need to fix and we are up to date with the rest of the world! The feedback I have received from those that use this part of our social network has been that they get a lot of readers from this part of BlogDumps. There are a lot of cool features on B Tubed you can even have friends, create your own groups, albums for all your media and more – so check it out when you get a moment. Maybe do a video right from your computer using B Tube’s Quick Capture web cam feature and post it on your blog using the embed code!

So that’s the news if you have been surfing BlogDumps and found some things changing and a feature not working that is why… Today should be the last day for all the updates!

Well I missed doing the news this week but I am sure you all are not that interested in the new data center upgrade we just went through, it was seamless as promised, and now the center is a more efficient less power consuming unit.

Ok, so I will tell you why I missed the news this week we have friends here from SoCal visiting and we have been going to the boat show in Annapolis, MD. What a great time we have had! Since we did most of the show already and it’s just a hop from DC, we are going to the Smithsonian this afternoon to see the air and space museum, it should prove to be quite fun!
