It’s finally the weekend….. I slept in this morning, Ah sooooo good!
It’s going to be really hot today so I guess I will do some power washing around here. Power washing is always a fun chore to do when it’s hot outside. Then I am going to hangout and just relax it has been one heck of a week.
I was asked the other day how I increase page rank and Technorati rank so fast…
To give you an example, my big sister wanted to start a blog – All About Angels – so we built it for her and started showing her some of the things we do to gain readers.
The first thing is to write and write and, well, you get the picture but every post has to be full of good content that is relevant to your site title and keywords.
Now, Go to Google create an IGoogle page add your blog feed to your IGoogle feeds – Guess what, your blog was just crawled by Google.
The next thing is to join all the linky love chain posts. This will bring links to your site fast.
Then join a Meme or two – play the blogging game – leave comments – visit popular blog often and READ THEM and leave a relevant comment with your link(this helps with Technorati rank.)
Branding this is the most important thing – join all the bigger sites like BlogCatalog.com or MyBlogLog.com, Entrecard.com etc… get your name out there so people associate your name (or seudo-name) and image with your blog.
Syndicate your blog – join Feedburner.com and give your readers a chance to subscribe. They may want to return regularly to visit your blog or they may want to save time and just subscribe to your feed so they don’t miss-out on something exciting or interesting you wrote.
Last and most important visit other bloggers be nice and try to be helpful, be passionate about what you do and the page rank and money will follow.

I added Feedburner to BlogDumps Blog the other day which, by the way, I think Feedburner is great. Then after that I saw somwhere on that site that Blogburst was a great place to add your blog, Yeah right.
I received an email from the “Blogburst Team” that said, “At this time your blog is not a good match for the BlogBurst network. A blog can be denied an invitation for many reasons, including quality as compared to other blogs in the network.”
Well Blogburst, who gives a rats you-know-what! Tell that to the 30,000 visitors a month to the BlogDumps blog. What is with these different sites? Do they think they are just all that and that we are just pee-ons waiting for them to give us a break?
Around here we think in a different fashion, if you wish to be added to the BlogDumps community well come on… You are welcome here! I don’t care if you are a blog directory or a blog or a blog resource site it’s all about the Linky Love not the competition or who is best, it’s not about if your blog is good enough. The fact that you are a blogger or blogging resource is what we are all about.
I started BlogDumps about two and a half years ago just for these reasons. I couldn’t find a place that had a good human edited place that a blogger – whether a seasoned blogger or a newbie – could go and get their blog some more readers and traffic to help build their blog. I didn’t know where to go and I was denied because I was a new blog with no rank, so that’s how BlogDumps got it’s start.
So if you are a blogger, blogging resource site or a reader that wants to start a blog BlogDumps is here for you. I don’t normally rant on this blog but it’s emails like that one that just make me want BlogDumps to be a better place for all of you.
In my opinion Blogburst, just typing in my url was a waste of time.

This is the hosting company that hosts the Entrecard site, they are no small potato!
With their high quality service I am sure they will recover soon.

I was off to drop an Entrecard and got an unexpected surprise their servers are down due to a fire at the server location.
This is what I found on their site:
“Outage
There was a fire at our datacenter resulting in the failure of some of our systems, our database server appears to be offline still, we’re working on it and we’re really sorry about the issues at this time. more information arriving shortly.
Update: The outage is pretty serious, you can read more about the datacenter fire at ThePlanet forums. They’ve got teams of people there and they’re working through the night. We have no ETA at this time, very sorry.

I would be freaking out to say the least. Entrecard is hosted by The Planet
This is what I found on THEPlanetForums:
“Today at approximately 5:45 p.m., a transformer in our H1 data center in Houston caught fire, thus requiring us to take down all generators as instructed by the fire department. All servers are down.
We are working with the fire department, with our facilities staff on site, to assess the situation.
To keep you updated, we will send messages every 15 minutes in Orbit and here in our forum.”
I can’t even imagine what that would be like and I never want to know!
I wish them the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
