In looking at the news tonight I worry about the future of the US. In this year of politics and a failing or troubled United States economy. I was prompted to see what happen today in history.

Some truly important things happened today in history – landmark decisions and actions like this:

  • During World War II Franklin Roosevelt approves the Draft and the Draft was imposed
  • Wall Street Exploded in 1920 when a cart of Explosives detonated nearby
  • In 1932 Gandhi began a hunger strike in protest of the British government’s decision to separate India’s electoral system by caste
  • 1949 – Warner brothers introduce the Road Runner – something we are all glad happened BEEP-BEEP!
  • 1620 – The Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England

See all kinds of great things!
